Plant Variety Protection

The Plant Variety Board was established in 1993.
Members of the Plant Variety Board are appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The Plant Variety Board administers the Act and regulations relating to the plant breeder’s rights. This means that the Board determines applications for protection of plant variety rights. The Board also advises the Norwegian Food Safety Authority on approvals of plant varieties for certified production.
