Step 2Fill in the trademark application form via our application guide (“Varemerkesøknad”), see “Applicant’s toolbox”.
Step 3We respond by issuing a filing receipt which includes an application number.
Step 4We carry out an examination to make sure your application meets certain formal requirements. We also carry out a search in trademark databases and other relevant material to assess whether or not your trademark is distinctive, or if there are any earlier conflicting rights. We will send you a report informing you of the result of our examination and highlight any objections.
Step 5If there are no objections the application will be registered and processed for publication. The registration certificate is sent to the applicant.
